There are some wedding days that remind you that a wedding doesn’t have to be grand to be incredibly meaningful.
On August 22, 2026, Dan and Megan gathered in a simple backyard in Lafayette, Indiana, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. No extravagant venue. No long guest list. Just their closest family and friends, a beautiful August day, and two people beginning their next chapter together.
And honestly, it was perfect.
A Day Surrounded by the People Who Matter Most
From the moment the day began, there was an unmistakable sense of closeness. This wasn’t a wedding centered around a room full of guests—it was centered around the people who have walked alongside Dan and Megan and who were there to celebrate this moment with them.
The backyard setting made everything feel relaxed and genuine. Conversations flowed, laughter came easily, and there was something incredibly special about being able to look around and see familiar faces everywhere.
There was no need for anything complicated. The beauty was in the simplicity.
Simple, Meaningful, and Completely Them
One of my favorite things about intimate weddings is how much room there is for the little moments.
The quiet glances.
The hugs from family.
The laughter between friends.
The moments that happen when nobody realizes the camera is there.
With a smaller celebration, those moments become such an important part of the story. Every person present had a reason for being there, and you could feel how much that meant to Dan and Megan.
The Moment They Said “I Do”
When it was time for the ceremony, everything seemed to slow down.
Surrounded by their closest people, Dan and Megan exchanged their vows and officially began this new chapter together. It was intimate, heartfelt, and full of the kind of emotion that doesn’t need an audience to make it significant.
Sometimes the most beautiful ceremonies are the ones where you can hear the laughter, feel the happy tears, and look around to see everyone genuinely invested in the moment.

After the ceremony came the celebration—and it felt exactly like it should.
